Our most successful live primary school performance, in partnership with Tip of the Iceberg Theatre Co, has been turned into a magical digital theatre experience.
A highly interactive, engaging and funny literacy play brought to life on screen. The project is designed to inspire children to fall in love with stories - reading, writing and telling them!

Incredible -The story in your school
Ben doesn't want to do his homework and write a story, it's far more fun watching TV, or playing his latest game. Mum threatens to cancel everything and in a fit of temper Ben throws all his books on the floor. All of the stories become muddled and with some theatre magic a new book appears - in the film - and in your classroom! Prince Charming arrives and realises that everything has gone very wrong.
Your pupils will be asked to find 'The Incredible Story Book' in the room you are watching the film in - you make and plant this prior to the event (art work and suggestions supplied). This then becomes the tool to communicate with the characters.
Your pupils then become the 'Creative Powers' and will journey with Ben throughout well known children's stories to help recognisable characters get back to where they belong. They will need to use their imaginations, get out of their chairs, shout and laugh as they help create settings, invent a rap, head into space and talk to the characters. They will be having so much fun they wont even realise they are learning all kinds of literacy skills along the way. From pirates to Sally Jotter, Peter Pan to secret detectives, these wonderful characters help Ben and the audience to create the most 'Incredible Christmas Story' ever! Will Ben fall in love with books? Will you?
Perfect for Book Week or Book Days
Throughout the antics we include PSHE and national curriculum areas supporting literacy, reading and the big write. 'The Incredible Story' is packed with curriculum linked ideas. As Ben is encouraged to explore the wonder of his imagination,so are the audience, and every character that appears has something to involve the audience with as well as some knowledge to share.
To give you a taste of how it works Prince Charming needs help to woo the Princess and with the help of the audience writes some modern poetry (a rap). The Wolf needs help as he's lost his setting and the audience can get up and create it. Sally Jotter reveals the magic of imagination as we picture a beanstalk and Aladdin shows us the power of description.
The Interaction
During the film pupils will continually take part in fun audience interaction.

You are encouraged to get involved by the characters. Numbered books appear on screen and link to the teacher guide.
Offer suggestions, advice, and help Ben
You will be sent a clear and simple guide accompanying the film explaining how to really bring it all to life, with some simple ideas as to how the digital experience can be enhanced within your school.
If it helps, we also send out a brief film explaining some of the techniques.
